中醫醫院動土 CE officiates at Groundbreaking Ceremony of Chinese Medicine Hospital
The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, officiated at the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Chinese Medicine Hospital (CMH) and the Government Chinese Medicines Testing Institute (GCMTI) today (June 2), marking a new milestone for the development of Chinese medicine (CM) in Hong Kong. Guests from the Mainland and Macao also joined the ceremony online simultaneously. The two flagship projects are expected to be completed by 2025, with services to be commenced in phases.
As one of the Construction 2.0 projects spearheaded by the Water Supplies Department, Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant aims to provide a stable supply of safe fresh water that will not be affected by extreme weather events. In its construction, highly efficient environmental management measures are implemented in conjunction with innovative digital technologies, including the flexible implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Artificial Intelligence Systems on CSmart Platform.
It is our first project in the Mainland. MiC and Steel Structure (鋼結構技術) technologies are adopted in this project which covers 250,000 square meters. Because of the tight delivery schedule, we made a simplified CDE platform to facilitate real time progress monitoring by both HK & Mainland teams. The customer treated the project as Greater Bay Area exquisite construction project. Workflow BIM Model upload to Autodesk BIM360 Forge Web Hook Notification to customer Smart Site platform (智慧工地平台) when there is a new file version Collect the updated BIM model from BIM 360 by Forge API Smart Site platform notifies the user by e-mail HK / Mainland users view the updated BIM model on Smart Site platform (智慧工地平台) Most importantly, the above process is triggered automatically upon a BIM model is uploaded to BIM360.
大國建造展覽 「香港故宮文化博物館」BIM + Civil
Another challenge given by the customer is to load multiple models in "大國建造展覽" event. To better highlight Hong Kong Palace Museum (香港故宮文化博物館), the customer specially requested to fit in HK urban landscape in the background. Thanks to Autodesk, Forge allows multiple BIM models (urn) display in a viewer. Foreground BIM model: Palace Museum made by Autodesk Revit Background Civil model: HK urban landscape exported from Autodesk Infraworks The major obstacle is the geo-coordinates alignment between two different models. We have invested plenty of time and efforts in placing the Place Museum on the correct position.
TKO Desalination Plant 將軍澳海水化淡廠
Appointed by China State Construction ( 中國建築), ETag has delivered a Smart Site Construction Portal at TKO Desalination Plant (將軍澳海水化淡廠). We have combined Autodesk Revit 3D Model and Google Earth to simulate the site environment so that everyone can view the site via Autodesk Forge in a web browser. Comparing with Drone photos, adopting Google Earth as background display is a cost effective option to enhance the outlook of the web site. Real time GNSS sensor data and IP camera video streams are embedded in the platform.
Large BIM Model Display in Web
When the user encounters a large model display (> 2GB), they usually select Navisworks format in the Forge output. However, it is not a good practice because most of the BIM information is lost. In order to maintain the BIM information and achieve the best display performance, SVF2 is the ideal choice. Autodesk Forge Model Derivative service produces SVF2 derivatives by optimizing and sharing meshes within the same Viewable, and even across multiple Viewables when possible. Because of this optimization, SVF2 format greatly reduces the Viewable storage size and speeds up viewing and loading performance. But note that SVF2 will take longer to translate. In the below video, it is a 2.8GB Revit model in a zip file and 80 linked rvt files are stored. Autodesk Forge spends only 30 seconds to display the Revit model.
Revit Model Group Selection
When a Group is selected in the BIM model, you would like to select all the objects in it, determine the group name and other information about group member elements. It is very useful in a large amount of objects information display (e.g. curtain wall, window, structural frame, borehole ..). For e.g., a number of groups were created in Revit model by modeler. The user selects a group in the left hand side panel. The corresponding group members are displayed in the BIM structural model.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam visited AsiaWorld-Expo on 29-September to inspect the temporary hospital construction progress. Adopting Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) and Works Supervision System technologies, the project is expected to be completed in about four months. I am pleased to announce that HK Airport Authority has awarded the Event Broker contract to E Tag to deliver Solace Event Broker for HK Smart Airport's Event Driven Architecture (EDA). What is Event Broker? The primary purpose of a broker is to take incoming messages from applications and perform some action on them. Message brokers can decouple end-points, meet specific non-functional requirements, and facilitate reuse of intermediary functions. For example, an event broker may be used to manage a workload queue or message queue for multiple receivers. Using Event Broker for Microservices Communication You can use events to implement business transactions that span multiple services, which gives you eventual consistency between those services. An eventually consistent transaction consists of a series of distributed actions. At each action, the microservice updates a business entity and publishes an event that triggers the next action. The below figure shows a PriceUpdated event published through and event bus, so the price update is propagated to the Basket and other microservices. Event Broker == MiddleMan? How do you achieve anonymity between publisher and subscriber? An easy way is let a middleman take care of all the communication. An event bus is one such middleman. In the below figure you can see how, from an application point of view, the event bus is nothing more than a Pub/Sub channel. The way you implement this asynchronous communication can vary.
Vibration on Marine Crane
Appointed by HK Airport Authority, E Tag delivers a vibration measurement on a marine crane where at Skypier. Six wireless vibration sensors are installed on a marine crane to monitor the crane vibration in real time on various positions. The sensors are powered by batteries and the battery life can be lasted for 6 months in 7x24 monitoring.
Water Leakage Monitoring
Joint work with ChunWo Construction & Engineering to deliver a BMS + IoT solution in ASD (建築署) project The project is located at Water Resources Education Center (WREC) of Water Supplies Department (WSD). By combining IoT and BIM technologies, ASD property team can monitor the site BMS BACnet data in real time via the web client. In case the BMS system triggers an alarm, the system displays the alarm data on the BIM model and states its possible root causes on the web client. For example, the water pipe is highlighted in the below picture when a water leakage alarm is received from BMS system.
IoT at HK Airport
E Tag delivered a number of IoT projects at HK Airport. The data is collected in real time and trigger a push notification on mobile device when a value exceeds a predefined threshold value. 1.
